SASS 'HELPED' AND BRYTON USED A HAMMER DRILL FOR THE FIRST TIME! WE'VE BEEN CARVING PUMPKINS AND HAVING A SUPER FUN HALLOWEEN. WE'VE BEEN 'BAKING' WITH PLAYDOH. WE'VE BEEN GOING TO THE CABIN AND HAVING A BLAST WITH COUSINS. WE'VE BEEN FINISHING THE BASEMENT(YAY TAFT) AND DOING DANCE SHOWS(PICS TO COME!). WE'VE BEEN FIXING OUR TRAMP AND OUT ROOF BECAUSE THE DANG WIND CAME OUT TO PLAY...WAY TOO ROUGH. WE'VE GONE TO THE FIRE STATION. BRYTON EARNED HIS WOLF IN SCOUTS AND IS NOW A BEAR. THE KIDS ARE DOING GREAT IN SCHOOL AND THEY CAN'T WAIT FOR THE CHRISTMAS BREAK! I AM NOT TOO SURE HOW READY I AM...BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE!

Life has been busy! My blog is being weird, and it doesn't show the pictures so I can't comment on each. So here's a run down and you'll have to fit it with the pictures! First off, is my newest completed project, a pillow cover for the pillows in my family room. I am quite proud. Then we had Avery's FOURTH birthday! Yes....4...can't believe it! She has the cutest friends ever and they made her day so special. She had a "Tangled" part. She's obsessed. We then had EASTER! They were SO excited to wake up to their baskets! We had to hurry and get dressed for church, so they didn't get a lot of time to look through their goodies. But the Easter Bunny visited while we were at church and the kids went on an egg hunt in the backyard when we got back. They loved it! And...Bentley finally lost a tooth! His two bottom ones are now missing. He was SO excited he could barely contain himself!
The weather is getting better, I love my kiddos, I love my hubby, life is GOOD!!

These are a few of our goings on the last couple of months. Sass had a dance show back in December where they did a part of the Nutcracker. It was so stinkin' cute. I posted pictures of that, but ran across this cute picture of Sass and Matt. He brought her flowers. It was so cute. Bryton had his animal habitat fair. He chose to do a tiger and he did a GREAT job! There are some funny pictures I thought Mom and Dad would appreciate. And....I made new pillow case covers for the pillows that go on the couch in the family room. The first one is the most horrible. I got the hang of it after the second!
I got released from YW today. It's a bitter-sweet feeling. I'm going to miss the girls very much, but it will also be nice to be at home with my family on Wednesday night. The new people they called will be awesome.

Meet our new baby, Titus! On Saturday, Matt's aunt called and said she'd gotten pressured by her daughters to buy a purebred Chihuahua. She said she got home and realized that she didn't want a dog, and she's never home to take care of a dog. So she called us to see if we wanted him. He is 9 weeks old and he is the sweetest thing ever! He is such a good boy. He has such a fun, cute little personality. Meow just watches him, and if he gets too close she might hiss at him as a warning he's too close, but she doesn't really care about him. We LOVE him!

CHRISTMAS!!

Christmas was so fun this year! Christmas Eve we went to Jamie's and had pizza. I attempted Mom's cookie cake. It was okay...definitely not the same! Then we had the kids open their jammies and they LOVED them! It was so fun seeing the cousins run around so happy together in their Christmas jammies. We didn't get home until about 9:00, which was good...because the kids would've stayed up anyway! Bryton was up ALL night long, and they were up about 7:15. They came running in with their stockings so happy. I love that look on their faces. It makes me remember that I love being a mom! :) We went downstairs and they were in awe. We opened Nana and Papa's presents first and they were so happy. We had a day full of sewing(yes...I got a sewing machine! I'm horrible at it right now, but just you wait!) Wii playing, Lego building, barbie playing, Grandma visit, Grandpa visit, Skype with Nana and Papa......good day!

Sass had her first Dance show today! It's a little in class show, then at the end of the year they do their big one. They did a little version of The Nutcracker and it was so cute! Sweet Matt showed up with flowers and a Diet Rootbeer for her. She loved it. I think she did maybe 5 steps right. She was too interested in looking at herself in the mirror, and us! It was really sweet. Here are just a few pics to get a taste!

Bryton's Baptism!

Our sweet Bryton was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church last night! He was SO excited. It was really sweet watching him get into his suit and be excited to head out. Before leaving, we gave him his own set of scriptures with his name on them, a scripture case, marking pen, a journal and I made him a blanket or "comforter". He loved them all and I loved his reaction to the personalized scriptures.
He was baptized along with a really cute girl named Hanna that has joined our carpool this year. Cameron gave a sweet little talk and the primary kids sang I am a Child of God. Matt confirmed Bryton and gave him a very sweet blessing. It was so neat watching him sit in that chair, then have all the people I love(minus one) surround him. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing husband who keeps himself worthy to hold the Priesthood that blesses are family so much. And to be surrounded by such great men who do the same.

Bryton's First Pack Meeting!!!

Our cute Bryton had his first Pack Meeting last night! He was SO excited! Matt took him to the Scout store on Saturday and we got all he needed, then I spent WAY too long sewing on patches before the meeting so he'd be all ready to go. He was so excited. It was so fun to see him go take his seat in the front with the other Wolves. We worked hard the few days before so he could earn his Bobcat patch! That was so fun seeing him presented with that(I also got a mom Bobcat pin). He went to Scouts on Friday and he also earned his Marbles belt slide. Wow was he excited when he got TWO awards the first night! Then we were asked to go up with him to go through the cute initiation into the pack. I drew symbols on his face, then he drew a line down both mine and Matt's nose. It was really sweet. He is so excited, and I'm sure having the father he has....I'll be sewing patches on like crazy!!! We're so proud of our almost 8 year old!

Matt takes the kids on "Adventure Time" every Saturday. This Saturday his mom came and the kids were SO excited! They went up Farmington Canyon somewhere and Matt said they had a blast. Thanks Karen for going with them! They LOVED having you there! My kids are for sure like their Daddy...they love being outside and getting dirty! :)

We had SO much fun up at the cabin this weekend! It's so nice to just get away. We had fun riding on 4-wheelers, playing on the river bank, making fires, s'mores, swinging(even the adults as you can see), watching the dogs beg food, playing card games, going to bed late.....such fun! The kids asked where Nana and Papa were. We had to remind them they are on their mission. It wasn't the same without them there though that's for sure. But we followed ALL the rules and left the place shining! :)

Jill was super cute and took Sass on a ride. She was in heaven!!

First Day of School!!

Well...we had quite the adventurous first day of school! Bryton woke up at least 5 times saying "Mom, I can't help it, I just want it to be morning!", then finally at 6:15 I told him he could go downstairs and get his school stuff on. I was tired, but happy he was so excited! Bentley, however, as you can tell by his "first day of first grade" picture wasn't so excited. 2 weeks ago he had a mysterious fever for 6 days, then it went away...for 6 days. Then Friday night it decides to reappear. He woke up Monday with the fever still. So I decided to take him back to the doctor. We took Bryton to his classroom and he was so excited! I loved it. Then we took Bentley to meet Mrs. Wood and to let her know we were going to the doctor...and would hopefully be back. The Dr said he was fine and he was fine to go back to school...which earned a HUGE grin from Bentley! I dropped him off about 10am and he was so excited. All the kids yelled "Bentley!" when he walked in, which I know made him feel so good.
Now picking them up was one of my favorite things EVER! I was waiting by the office and I could see them coming down the hall with the biggest grins on their faces! It was so sweet! They gave me huge loves and said their day was awesome! Sass was also so excited to see them! She ran up to them and gave them hugs. They couldn't stop talking about it. Bryton was up again early this morning and ran down and got all ready for school. If only that excitement would last!
I LOVE my kids. LOVE THEM!! They can drive me completely insane, but I wouldn't change that for the world. They make me smile and even though they can be beasts, they have such tender hearts. How'd I get to be so blessed???

This little device is my new best friend! I FINALLY got my pump! YAY! It's called an OmniPod, and it's the greatest thing ever! No more shots! I was giving myself around 6-7 shots a day, now I only get a little pinch every 3 days. It's bliss! It looks kind of big in this picture(ignore the fat, and the stretch marks...), but it's actually pretty small, and tubeless! It's been such a blessing. It's expensive, but worth it! Yay for the pump! It is so heavenly!!

I can't believe Fa Fa-taculous turned SIX today!! He had such a fun day! These pictures are totally out of order...sorry...but you get the jist! We had french toast sticks from Burger King because that's what the birtday boy wanted. Then we went swimming for a couple of hours and the kids had SO much fun!! We then came home and got set for Fa's birthday party. They had a blast and Fa was so excited. Those happy faces are my reason for living!! :)

THE DS THAT HE'S WANTED SINCE BRYTON GOT ONE LAST CHRISTMAS!! WE TOLD HIM IF HE EARNED HALF...WE COULD PAY THE OTHER HALF FOR HIS BIRTHDAY AND HE DID IT!! GO FA!

We were missing 3 boys, but these guys are his buds!! Bentley truly has the best little friends ever!!!

3RD OF JULY!!

Yesterday was full of action! We went to the Kaysville parade for the first time since the kids were born, and they loved it. It was insane though! We sat at the beginning of the route and we bailed a little early. The kids scored tons of candy, frisbees, stuffed animals, necklaces, baseballs, and a free kid's meal to Texas Roadhouse! We then headed to McDonald's with Jer and Mike(well...with Mike..Jer stayed home with cute baby) and the kids played some more! My mom should love the picture with Avery and "her" Diet Coke. Naughty!
We finished out the day with a BBQ and fireworks at Mike's parent's house. The kids had so much fun. We really missed going up to Nana and Papa's, but this will do for the next 3 years :).
Tomorrow is yardwork, housework, more bbq and more fireworks, so more posts to come!

Wow! It's been a while!! This will be a quick catch up! June has been sooo busy! April brought Avery's 3rd birthday! We had a fun birthday with our family, then her and her little best friend Amelia had a double princess party and it was so stinkin' cute!
Bentley graduated from Kindergarten and is going to be in 1st grade! I can't believe it! He also broke his leg...again. We might have to take him into physical therapy to get him walking right again!
Bryton is now a 2nd grader! Wow! He also has started karate and loves it. He earned his yellow belt and was soooo proud of himself!
My mom and dad are also flying to Canada as I sit here and write to be mission presidents! It's such a bitter-sweet feeling. I am so proud of them and happy that they'll be back in their old stomping grounds, but 3 years is a long time! They are so amazing, and those missionaries are sooooo lucky to have them as their mission president!!

Happy Easter! This is an in betweener...a little annoying. Won't let me write at the top...rude! Anyway....we had a fun Easter! The kids were SO excited! Bryton was the first one awake...of course! We hung out in my bed for a while until he was going to burst and so I told Bryton it was okay to wake Bentley up. By the picture you see of him below...he was obviously not happy about being woken up! Avery woke up super happy and ready to go! They had fun. I wish we could have had an outdoor egg hunt...but NO! And waking upt to 6"+ of snow this morning...not too fun. It's Spring Break and the kids are already fighting like mad. Hopefully we can get out and do something fun the last half of this week!

Anyway...I am grateful for my family...and for my Savior who made it possible for us to be together forever!

We've been in the process(very, very long process) of finishing a bathroom/laundry room. The kids have wanted to "help" Matt and so he finally let them. They loved "helping" and though it was super cool! Look....even Rogue was in on the action! Then there is Sass. Oh Sass......my chocolate lover! We had chocolate icecream and she decided she wanted to put the caramel sauce(sugar-free I might add) on by herself. Notice how fabulous she thinks it is! I mean come on.....what's better than chocolate and caramel together?? :)

Oh what a crazy week(or 2 or 3!)! Keeping my house clean has been super hard, but I'm learning that I like the cleanliness. I'm thinking this might turn into a problem though......I am going to try to not turn into a freak. But it's been good! It's been a little warmer that last couple of days so the kids have been able to go into the backyard which has been fabulous! Also, the kitty has learned to get onto the table. So this last pic is her enjoying Avery's ramen noodles. The middle one is of her on her favorite, warm place to sleep. Naughty! And the first....it says it all! This is Avery and her best little friend Amelia. They are 6 days apart, and they hate to be apart! Every day at 7am Avery says to me "Mom, I call Amia to play." And every moment until we call her it's "Mom!! I want to play with Amia!". We love our friends!

This is a VERY rare occasion. I fell asleep on the couch! This is what happens when I completely run out of steam. It happens every few months! Avery was SO mad that I had laid down. She was smacking my head and pulling my arm and crying "Mom! Open you eyes mom! You can't take a sleep!". I wasn't giving in....I couldn't help it. So she ended up falling asleep next to me. This is what I want to do around 2:30 every day. I'm exhausted! I don't sleep at night, mostly because my kids don't sleep. I am running 200 miles an hour all day trying to take care of the kids and all that comes along, and trying to keep my house 100% spotless all day. For those who don't know, our home is up for sale. It is really sad because we've lived in our home for over 7 years and we have made some really good friends, but it's time for our family. Hopefully my head will stop spinning soon and I can start posting more!!

Okay Okay....I KNOW!!! I've had so many people tell me I'm slacking on my blog, and I must admit that is SO true! Things have been wild! In August we went to California and since then our cord to our camera that loads stuff on the computer has gone missing. So I can't post any pictures. But I thought at least words would do, right?
Bryton's in 1st grade this year and is doing AWESOME!! I just can't believe the difference in him right now compared to last year at this time. Bentley is in Kindergarten and giving his teacher a run for her money! He's doing great though and I can't believe how much he has learned in the short time he's been in there. Avery is will be 3 in April and she keeps my on my toes! I can't take my eyes off of her for a single second or something has been destroyed! She's a sweet Sassy Pants though!
Matt has gone back to school to get a degree in Computer Science as well as Computer Engineering. He just can't do nothing! He got a new job at an awesome company on the Base and he really likes it!
I am just herding the masses!! I'm being a mom and going crazy, but loving it at the same time! Hopefully we'll find my cord soon so I can get back to the blogging thing and post some pictures coming up!!!

Avery got her first hair cut a couple of days ago! I love it! It was getting too long and it was getting in her food and was always a disaster! So...I took her to my fabulous neighbor, Tara, and she did a mighty fine job at chopping that mess off! She looks so cute!

Wow!! I can't believe Bryton is now a 1st grader. I know....school doesn't start until August 24th(to be exact!), but it is still official :). He had a super cute graduation program. He had the BEST teacher EVER. We were definitely blessed to have had her as Bryton's teacher, and even more blessed that we get to keep her for Bentley's teacher next year! We did car pool with 2 FABULOUS ladies and their darling kids. Cute Sam and Summer. I can't believe Bryton is growing up right before my eyes! We love him SO much. He's our little(big!) buddy!

Woo hoo Bentley!! He graduated preschool today! I can't believe it. No more preschool for our Fa Fa. It was SUCH a cute graduation! They came in one by one and Teacher Jana introduced them. Teacher Jana seriously rocks. She is SO awesome. It's a good thing she lives on my street so we get to still see her tons(poor her!). He was so cute and so proud of himself. He is such a sweetie and we love him so much. Kindergarten here he comes!

Rare Love, Black Spidy, 2-wheelers and Graduation...

Oh Bentley.....this kid is nuts! He was being really quiet(which is the first sign of trouble). I called for him and he said he was outside playing spiderman. I thought "Oh..okay". Then I went to look outside a little bit later and he darted behind our playset(second sign of trouble...hiding). I stepped back to make it look like I'd walked away and he jumps out in a spiderman pose. He'd painted himself black so he could be the black spiderman. Luckily he thought to take off his brace he has to wear because he fell and possibly broke his wrist. Oh Bentley......

And this....this is a sight very, very rarely seen between these 2. They are constantly teasing each other, hitting each other, kicking each other, scratching each other....it's just war between them. So this morning I could here quiet whispers and laughing. It was Bentley and Avery, I was sure they had completely destroyed something. To my sweet surprise, they were in Avery's bed and reading "I love you, Stinky Face" and laughing together. I slowly, oh so slowly, tip toed backwards and let them have their moment. Their very rare, sweet moment....

We also must give a shout out to Bryton who has finally learned to ride a 2-wheeler!! Woo hoo Bryton! He is completely obsessed now. It's all he talks about. He went to the "mountains" with Matt on Monday and he thought that was the coolest thing ever! He also only has less than 2 weeks of Kindergarten left. He's growing up so fast!

AND THE GREATEST NEWS OF ALL!!! MATT HAS GRADUATED!!! YAY!! WOO HOO!!! After 6 1/2 years, he is finished. I am SO proud of him and all he has done. He is amazing!! WAY TO GO MATT!!!!

I just loved Avery's face in this picture. Bryton told her to smile and this is what she came up with!
Sassy eating her brownie batter! Any time I make anything she jumps up on the counter and says "I help" or "ooo..yummy!"

Bryton didn't feel well one day so he took a blanket and pillow outside and fell asleep in the shade for 2 hours! The same day Avery zonked out on the stair! It was a sleepy day!

Life has been fun, nuts, crazy, busy, and a blessing! We've had our fair share of "things" these passed few weeks, but holy crap we are SO blessed!!! I love my kids, and my hubby. They are AMAZING! Matt went to his last lecture today.....FOREVER!! No going back in the Summer or Fall. Never!:) He has his last final EVER on the 5th of May. We are so excited!! He is the greatest. The Lord has blessed our lives immensly, especially lately, and we are so grateful for all we have!!

I can't believe Sassy is TWO!! She woke up to a vanity filled with brushes and "jewels" which she loved, and clothes and new swimming suits. That night my family came over for cupcakes and she got her Cinderella doll she eyes whenever we go to the store. She opened it and when she saw her she yelled "Cinderella!!!". It was so cute! We LOVE this little gal and are so grateful for her sweet and sassy little spirit!!

Once again I have my pictures backwards....oh well!! Anyway....we had a super fun Easter! My kids were up at 6:30, which is only about a half hour earlier than they wake up anyway! The Easter Bunny gave the boys Bakugans which they are completely obsessed with right now and a Bakugan tshirt, as well as a few goodies. Sassy Pants got a Tinkerbell hoodie and a Cinderella doll. She also got a few goodies which were all shoved into her mouth within the first 5 minutes of getting her basket! We had a little egg hunt and the rest of the day was spent laying around, playing Bakugans and eating garbage. What could be better than that!? Oh yes...Bruce got some new bones(which were stolen by other dogs!) and a new toy. Can't leave him out!

These 2 are crazy! Ever since we got Bruce his bigger kennel, miss Sassy pants feels like it's the funnest thing to climb inside with him. Of course then she starts crying when he's climbing all over here, but I really don't feel bad for her. She knows it's going to happen, yet she does it anyway! She loves it though, as you can see. Bruce will usually sit right across her almost like he's guarding her(when he's not "attacking" her). He's been a fun doggie! He'll be 14 weeks on Friday. We love him!
It's been a while since I updated! Matt had sinus surgery that went really well, and then he gouged his leg in Moab and had to get 18 stitches! I've been struggling a little with my diabetes, but I'll(hopefully) pull out of it soon! Kids are doing great! We just need Spring to get here!! My kids have been achin' to go outside and play for a week and a half. Hopefully Spring will decide to visit in full bloom soon!

Well it's official!! After 6 years of cribs we are crib free! Avery isn't even 2 yet(will be in April), but she climbs out of her bed, and then gets upset if we have a little knob locker thing on the door. But she couldn't get back in her crib so she was stuck. She no longer will stay in her bed for naps and she gets out of her bed in the morning when she wakes up. We figured why not just change her crib into a big bed, this way she can at least get back inside! She looks so small in that huge bed! We'll see how tonight goes. It'll probably be a disaster for a few nights, but she'll get the hang of it! Woo hoo for us! Crib free!! We're having a pizza party tonight in celebration. Now if we could get to the diaper free........

We We are loving having Bruce in our family! He is SUCH a good puppy! He was accident free Tuesday and yesterday, and so far today! I say not so bad! Today is his 6th day with us. He does awesome at night, and I really can't complain about anything! Well...his chewing is a problem, but what do you expect with an 8 week old puppy?! He goes in for his 8 week check up on Monday, and then when he is 12 weeks we're going to take him to a training school! It's a puppy Kindergarten class! It's 1 1/2 hours, one day a week for 8 weeks. The people we got Bruce from have had dogs their whole married life and highly recommend this program to have a good dog! He has been so good though. Bryton said this morning "Mom, I'm so glad Bruce isn't a louzy dog. I wanted a playful dog!". He is definitely comfortable with us now. We love him!

I am a couple of days late, but Matt and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary on the 15th! Wow...a lot can happen in 7 years(refer to the pic below!)!! I've heard people talk about the "7 year itch", but I'm not feeling the least bit itchy! Matt is an AMAZING husband and an AMAZING father. He works himself into the ground for us. He is the most hard working, loving, funny, outgoing, thoughtful, selfless, humble, smart, kind, obedient(to the gospel, people), wonderful person I've ever met. And let's not forget ultra, fabulously handsome! He supports me in all that I do, and he supports our children in all that they do. I really must've done something amazing before I came down here to have been blessed SO immensely!

Introducing Bruce Wayne(aka Batman..can you tell the boys named him?)! He was born on December 26th. He's a pure Lab with a pink nose and blue eyes. Matt and I picked him up last night. We went and saw these puppies when they were only 2 1/2 weeks old, and ever since then Bryton and Bentley ask when we're getting Bruce Wayne. They thought it was never going to happen. But they came in my room this morning and Bruce was sitting on my bed and they both froze. I said "Do you know who that is?" They both said "Bruce" with huge eyes and even bigger smiles. Avery melted. It was so sweet. He's been so good, so far! We are in love with him already. He is probably going to get pretty huge, because I guess his dad was massive! We're excited! He is spoiled and loved already. Welcome to the crazy clan Brucy!

The pictures say it all! The boys were being so silly the other night and they were "making our booties fat!". They thought it was the funniest thing ever! It was quite funny to watch them stuff their pants. We had a good laugh!

And my Bentley....he always comes up with the funniest things. This is our conversation in short:
Bentley: Mom, are mummies real?
Me: No bud. Well...they used to be, but that was a really, really long time ago and they never came alive. And it was way on the other side of the world. They never came alive.
Bentley(after a pause and very serious but animated): Well mom, if you sprayed them with mummy alive gas they would come alive, right?!
Me: Well maybe. But remember, mummies aren't real.
Bentley: Well if you sprayed them with mummy alive gas they would be real

DINOSAURS!!!!!

Today we had the GREAT opportunity to go see Walking with Dinosaurs!! It was so awesome! I don't think my boys blinked the whole time! Avery even sat there(with her Sprite and licorice). There was a narrator who told the story of dinosaurs and told about each one as they came out. They battled, and even at each other. That, my boys thought was super neat. We had so much fun. The boys couldn't stop talking about it the whole way home, and Bentley went downstairs when we got home and set up all his dinos and is loving it! So here's a BIG shout out to Nana and Papa!! This was awesome!!:)

I am fine with the snow until this time. Mid-January. But now....it needs to go! Today is such a nice day. It's sunny and warm(for January) and it makes me ready for Spring! The other morning I heard a bird chirping and I loved it! However, as you can see, my boys are still enjoying the snow! They have been wanting to make a snowman but the snow has been too powdery or too frozen. So Matt went out and MADE it work! They were so excited. But the next morning his hat was covering his face and the boys thought it was so funny. Bentley exclaimed "That is such a funny situation!". So...I guess here's to a few more months of snowmen!

We had such a fun Christmas!! The boys were SO excited. It was so fun to watch them and their reactions to the "reindeer" thumping on the roof and that Santa had eaten their cookies and downed their milk! Their faces as they ran into my room with their stockings that morning were priceless. That's what I wanted for Christmas and I got it! I love them so much and it's been so nice spending so much time together since they are out of school. Another bonus is that Matt is between semesters so he's been home as well. Him and the boys have been having a great time building a huge mound of snow in the backyard(pics to come later)! It's been great! Snow!!! I am not a liker of snow. I often wonder in the Winter why I live here. However, my kids love it so I guess we'll keep it. :) It snowed before, but by last night it was all melted away. Then within a few hours today we got this! I do like snow for Christmas, but then my mid-January I am sooo done! Anyway....my boys have had a blast playing outside. Matt is helping them build a big jump for their sled. So maybe we'll have an injury post later on???

Bryton turned SIX yesterday! I can't believe he is six. Well....he seems more to me like 8!:) He had a great day. He thought it was super cool when I came to his class to do his little spotlight. He loved it! He got some fun things and it's come in handy today when I need to clean and him and Bentley are in the basement playing away! Yay! He got a few things before school. Boring stuff like a sweater, jeans and shoes! Then he had to wait until after dinner for the rest. We love Bryton! Even though he is quite stubborn and picky....he is a sweetheart! Okay...so I totally caved! We usually don't put up our Christmas stuff until the day after Thanksgiving. I just have issues with skipping right over Thanksgiving. But...since many other people have their Christmas stuff up, my boys have been relentless at asking to put up our Christmas stuff. I finally caved after Bryton said to me yesterday "Mom! We're the only lame ones that don't have our Christmas stuff up! It's the holidays!". So I told them we could at least put up our Christmas tree, but the rest would have to wait until Friday. So last night for fhe we put up the tree and hung our homemade decorations from last year. I refuse to buy nice ornaments that will just be torn down and broken. Some day....some day. For now, to others, this looks like a sad, miserable tree. But to us it is fabulous and full of funny memories! The kids had a blast and Bentley kept freaking out saying "Mom! This is freaking awesome!". So...caving was worth it.:)

This kid is my big helper! I walked into the kitchen the other night and Bryton had "washed" some dishes and he was drying them for me. I wasn't feeling well, so he said he was trying to help me. He is such a sweetheart!

This is my boy! He was playing a "fideo game" on Nick Jr and wanted some "chocolates". So I gave him 3 Kisses. I walked upstairs and when I came down I found he'd downed his chocolates and stolen my Diet Coke. He's his mamma's boy, and his Nana's boy! lol

And this is just my Miss Sassy Pants! She is getting more and more sassy as the days go on! She's naughty! But with this face, it's so hard to get mad. I am a LOT better at it then Matt is. He finds it completely impossible to get upset with her. He just cannot do it. We're in for it!

The kids had a great Halloween(sorry..the pictures are out of order!)!! The boys couldn't wait ALL day! The were so excited when it was finally time! Avery was hilarious. She was so thrilled about getting treats but she would NOT let us put them in her bucket. She was holding onto them for dear life. After a while she figured it out and put them in the bucket, all but a sucker I opened for her. The boys have been enjoying their candy freely, but once they are in bed tonight...all the leftovers(minus a few for bribes of course) are going in the garbage! You might think "How rude!". However, me being a diabetic and sorts I'm a little more strict on the white sugar intake! :) They know it's going away too and they aren't too upset. I told them I'd give them each $2 for their candy. So see....I'm not that mean. :) It was a fun day!

Well...I have had a few people ask me what's up with the house and the flood situation, so I thought I'd update! We're still in a mess! It'll be 2 weeks on Tuesday! We're finally getting the family room painted on Monday and I am really, really hoping they can do both coats in one day. They said they usually do one coat, take an hour break and come back for the second. Then we'll have new baseboards up and painted and everything(we're doing this ourselves) by Wednesday night and HOPEFULLY they can lay the new pad and cleaned carpet down by the weekend. We found out that our bedroom needs new carpet which means we'll have to do the hallway and the stairs as well(I'm totally not complaining!). I ordered that yesterday and I am really hoping they can get that laid by the weekend too! We've been sleeping on the floor in our bedroom and we've had to keep the family room blocked off. The kids are super onery as is their mother! I want my house back!

We've had an adventurous week! Last Tuesday(the 21st) Bentley flushed my toilet and we immediately left to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. 3 1/2 hours later we walk into water pouring out of the ceiling in the family room. The toilet must've clogged and it overflowed the whole time we were gone. Of course I was fine for a few minutes, and then when I went upstairs and started trying to get water off the floor(good luck..there was so much) I realized what we were in for and started bawling. A lot of good that did! As we were trying to figure out what to do we had a couple of FABULOUS neighbors come over and helped us SO much! We feel blessed to live where we do! Anyway...UDK came and here it is a week later and we've still got fans running. Friday they came and cut out a large part of the ceiling so the air could get up there. The walls and more ceiling are going to have to be torn out, and part of the walls and tile in the master bathroom. Oh the joys! We'll be in a mess for quite a while until everything is fixed, but I keep telling myself it could have been worse. We could've been gone longer, we could've had another room below the family room, it could've been the boys' toilet that overflowed. My poor kids are like caged animals. They are confined to the living room and kitchen. We set up the TV in the living room so they could still watch shows, but we have to turn it up all the way because they can't hear it over the fans. Hopefully sooner rather than later I'll have finished product photos!

We went to the Dinosaur Park on Friday(thanks Jamie!) and my kids had SO much fun! It all decked out for Halloween and my boys were in heaven. Avery loved it too and kept pointing at stuff and saying "booky guy! booky guy!". They had so much fun running around seeing all the scary stuff and playing with their cousins. It was a little(or a lot) cold but that didn't put a damper on anything! My kids love Halloween so this was fabulously fabulous for them! :)

This weekend my family and I participated in STEP OUT: Walk to Fight Diabetes. It was me and Matt, my parents and all of my sisters and 3 of their spouses(the others had to watch kiddos!). It started at Heritage Park and ended at Hogle Zoo. I was bummed because we got free entry into the Zoo! Had I known this, I would have brought my kids. Next year! It was a really fun time though. For me anyway!! I love my family SO much. They are so loving and soooo supportive of me. I don't know what I did to be so blessed!! We raised a lot of money though that went to the ADA and hopefully with that meds and treatments will get better from here on out for us with the big D! Our team name was "Invincible". Hopefully with the loving support of my family and some dedication on my part I can be Invincible to this disease and stay on top of it until I am 99!

I have been really stressed out this last week, and my boys always find a little moment to push me through. I had a bunch of kids over last week and one was asleep up in Bentley's bed. He woke up and was screaming, so I got up to go get him and Avery flipped. So Bryton ran over and said "It's okay mom, I will sit here with Avery so you can go get BoBo" and sat down next to her and she cuddled right up to him and stayed for quite a while. What a sweet boy he is! Then yesterday at Bryton's soccer game I was so tired(kids up all night!) and Bentley said "Are you tired mom?", and I said "yes buddy, mommy's tired". He came up to me and gave me a big hug and said "Mom, you are the best mom and the most beautiful and I will scratch your back to make you feel better." It was so sweet, so I picked him up and gave him a love and then Matt snapped that picture. They can be quite beastly, but those moments erase it all(for a while anyway!)! I love them!

We had quite the storm over the weekend!! It cracked this poor tree right down the middle! I wanted to tear that tree out because it was going to get WAY too big, but then Matt went out and cut a ton of branches out and it looked great. If we could keep it trimmed up really good it was going to be awesome. Our whole entire backyard was shaded by 5:30pm. It ended up being a great tree. So now we'll have to buy a new tree, dangit! It took Matt(and the boys of course!) about an hour to get all the branches down, and he realized it broke part of the fence when it fell. So we'll have to get that fixed too! But the rain and cooler temps(much cooler!) have actually been pretty refreshing. I love the smell of rain. It's so clean!

What's the deal!!?? We just got over colds going through the whole family. Now we have fevers! Poor Avery woke up at 5am with a fever and I gave her the last of the Tylenol. She spiked again around 10am, so we had to run to the store to get more Motrin. Poor baby was just miserable! Got home and gave her some more, then cuddled her for a while until it started kicking in. She just laid there and whined every now and then. Bryton came in with the camera and said he wanted to take a picture. He loves taking pictures! But then HE came up to me a little bit later saying he didn't feel well and what do you know!? He has a fever too! I am hoping it skips Bentley and especially Matt because he started school today. And obviously it would be fabulous if it stayed away from me too! I'm hoping Bryton's goes away super fast. Like...by tonight! He has his Kindergarten testing tomorrow morning! Who gets sick like this in the Summer!!??

I just have to say I love these kids!! They've been a little more beastly than normal lately because they are soooo ready for school to start(as am I!), but we've had some really sweet moments the last couple of days. They've been sick so we've had a lot of cuddle time(even at 4am). Who gets colds in the middle of Summer?! I guess we do! Matt's been out of school for a little over a week, so we've been able to spend a lot more time as a family. Can I tell you what a fabulous dad Matt is?? He is AMAZING! These kids love him. There is nothing he won't do for them. I am having an "I am so grateful for my family" moment. I'm sure in a while I will want to sell them again, but at the moment things couldn't be sweeter!

Happy Birthday to Bentley!! He is now officially 4! He had such a great day yesterday. We went to McDonald's and went in and played. He thought it was fabulous because we never go in. It's a germ fest and I can't stand it(I'm kinda a germ freak). But that's what he wanted to do so we went and they had lots of fun! He had a little friend party, obviously a pirate one! He loved his gifts and thought my nephew's gift, a Beast Basher Hot Wheels track was the coolest of all! He's been playing with it all day! I can't believe he's 4! He's such a sweetie and we love him to pieces!

I finally got to mowing my front lawn, and Avery wanted me to hold her. So after a little while of ignoring her, I finally picked her up. She was happy I picked her up, but not so happy about the lawn mower! It's a good thing too, because it was nearly impossible to hold her and mow. So I handed her off to Daddy and she was great. The boys had a great time riding their bikes without sweating to death. I was upset that I couldn't find their helmets. They were playing with them....some super hero game of some kind....and who knows where they are now! I have to go on a mad search! But we let them go out anyway, they just had to stay close. Avery had a fabulous eating dirt and playing with and eating chalk! It's been so nice not to be sweating in 100* weather! We are getting lucky(so far) this Summer! But wow is it flying by! It's almost mid-July! How did that happen??

Well I recently found out that I have Type 2 Diabetes. Thanks to the Gestational Diabetes I had when pregnant with Avery. I have to be on 2 types of meds and hopefully those along with a diet and exercise program I can control it and there won't be a need for insulin. Quite a shock and very overwhelming at this point, but I'll get there. I have to carry my meter everywhere with me, but the drab black nylon bag it's in is falling apart and it's a little depressing carrying this around. BUT...I found this fabulous site www.stickmedesigns.com and they have these fabulous glucose meter cases. The one pictured is the one that I ordered. They also have these mini "sharpes" containers(top pic) to put in your bag so when you're out and you have to test your blood you can just drop your test strip inside this then empty the container later when you get home. Now I can be a "stylish diabetic" if there is such a thing! But hey...it makes me feel a little better about things! So...if any of you out there are dealing or find yourself dealing with this at some point in your lives, visit their website! They have some really cool stuff!!

Gotta love the slip'n'slide!! I am trying to patch dents in my walls in the family room so I can repaint and they are relentless! It's impossible! So one day a light bulb went off and I remembered we had this slip'n'slide in the basement! How smart am I?!! I put Avery down for a nap and put this thing up. THREE whole hours of sanding and priming! Fabulous! They had SO much fun. Do you love Bentley's "swimming suit". He couldn't find his, so this is what he came up with. A swim diaper and Bryton's boxer briefs! Hey..it worked! I love these boys! What good little buddies!

It's finally warming up! Actually...it's down right hot now! My kids are loving playing in the pool and using the hose on the driveway! Avery is a maniac in the water! She LOVES it! This is the best money we've ever spent!! Matt put this together all by himself in about a week. Of course not starting until about 6 every evening. It was quite impressive how fast he did it! My boys LOVE this! It's been so nice to send them outside and let them run around! Too bad this stinkin' weather won't cooperate the last few days. I can't believe Bryton is officially no longer a preschooler! He had his graduation program on Monday and it was super cute! He was so proud of himself. I can't believe he is going to be in Kindergarten next year and that he'll be going to a "big school"(elementary!). Time flies so fast! It flies even faster the more kids you have!lol I swear he was just a little baby just walking like Avery is. This kid is such a sweetie! I love him! He is growing up so fast!

First swim of the season!!

We had our first swim of the season on Saturday! It was soooo much fun. We all got together at my mom's house and we swam and had pizza! The boys were maniacs and Avery LOVED it! It was her very first time in a swimming pool! She's a spaz in the tub, so we knew she'd love the water! It was 85* and perfect, and then of course today is 50* and crappy! Hopefully this weather will make up it's mind so we can have lots more swim days! Ahhh...Summer! Come on!

Attempt at a flower garden...

Sorta!! I planted the tulips in the Fall and it's the first time I've ever planted tulips or any other bulb so I had no idea what to expect. They bloomed late, but I think they are beautiful. Really dainty though, I'm gonna have to plant some more this Fall! Then yesterday I spent a few hours getting the soil ready for the other flowers and then planting away! I think it turned out pretty good. It'll look a lot better once they start growing...they'll all get at least twice as big as they are here. I also planted bushes on the West side of my house and it looks a lot better over there. But help...I need some bushes for straight shade! I can't find any! I have a spot just behind this island(you can see it in the pic with Bryton's feet!) that only gets sun for maybe 2 hours out of the day. So any advice would be fab! Anyway...this is my attempt. I still have a whole back yard to do! Yikes!

It's official! Avery is walking! She looks so funny, and big! She takes tiny steps and keeps her arms up to her sides for balance. Tonight she walked from the couch to the stairs, turned around and came back! She can even just stand up by herself in the middle of the floor and head out! She is so happy she can walk, she just screams and grins. I can't believe she is walking! This last one is of my boys and their "nosestaches"! They had regular mustaches, armpitstaches, cheststaches....they thought it was the funniest thing ever! And yes...they are in their regular attire, underwear. We get home and they strip, I can't keep 'em dressed!

Avery loves this new toy! Many people I know have the same thing. She loves pushing the Leap Frog and dancing to his "banjo songs"! Oh..and she also loves her brother's pirate cups!lol

So you know how you have days where you just want to pull every strand of hair out and you want to crawl in a hole where there is no "MOMMY!! MOMMY!!" whining constantly? Well I had one of those this morning. It was only 7:30am I if I had actually really started pulling my hair out strand by strand I would've had a tiny patch maybe in the back of hair left. The kids didn't sleep at all last night and I'd had a heck of a weekend so I was completely exhausted. Then the boys decided that waking up at 6am this morning would be super fun, and they also thought it would be super fun to be super onery. Then my Bean wakes up at about 7am and was soaked, as well as all of her bedding. So I stripped her and the bed and put her in the boys' room with them to hang for a minute while I threw the sheets in the wash. I was fuming and my blood pressure I am sure had risen when I heard the silliest, loudest laughter coming from upstairs. I tiptoed up and peaked in the boys' room. Bryton and Bentley had lifted Avery up on Bentley's bed and they were just making silly noises and faces at her and she was completely out of control laughing. It sounded like she was going to start crying she was laughing so hard. Of course the boys thought it was fabulous and so they were laughing. I just sat and watched for a little while and as the seconds passed my blood pressure started returning to normal and my hair started growing back. I grabbed the camera so I remember "ahhh....this is why I love them and do what I do every day!". Then I joined in the fun and needless to say I dropped the boys off at preschool at 9am in a very good mood. :)

I can't believe my sweet Bean is ONE! She turned one yesterday. It's like I blinked when I was in the hospital and when I opened my eyes....here we are! Time goes by too quickly! She had a fun, spoiled day! She REALLY wanted the flame on her candle, and then she freaked out with joy when she got the whole cupcake to herself! Her fave gift was this ball popper thing. She loves balls and she loves putting things inside of things and taking them out, so she was in HEAVEN! We love her SO much!

My brother BJ has been out on his mission for almost 6 months! We've always missed him, but we're really starting to miss him now! I took these the last time the kids saw him. We had a Halloween party at my parent's house. He is serving in the Birmingham England mission and is doing really well. We miss him though.... :(

These boys keep it rockin' from sun up to sun down! They take no breaks! They are 19 months apart, so super good friends....or killing each other! I break up wars pretty frequently, but listen to their funny imaginative play more often which makes the wars worth it! They look a little frightening in this first pic! And I need a new camera..BAD...so the middle one is a little fuzzy. Anyway...these are my beasts.:) I love them!

We are so in love with this girl! She is hilarious an makes us smile all the time. These are just a few randoms of her. The boys thought they were really funny and were banging on the computer and now the folder with all of her baby pictures is all messed up. Needless to say they won't be thinkin' their funny any time soon! So hopefully Matt can fix it and I can post some of those. Of course I'll be posting some pics of the crazy men! PS..this girl is IN LOVE with her Daddy. It's the cutest thing! And doesn't she look just like me!?:)

This last January my parents took all us gals(minus Janessa because of pregnancy issues) to NY! BJ obviously wasn't there either. He's serving a mission in England!! It was SO much fun! These are just a few pictures from the trip. I took a million! We saw Wicked, Lion King, Mary Poppins, went to the Wax Museum, Statue of Liberty, shopped......and of course ate!

Of course the Statue of Liberty! It was flippin' cold, but really awesome! The boat ride back was NOT a pleasant experience. Some of us really almost lost our lunch! But it was worth it!

If only he were real. The Wax Museum was really fun. It was so crazy how real most of them looked. Oprah looked totally fake, and my sister Jocelyn got a really good picture doing something not so nice to Hillary Clinton! he he

Me and my fabulous Mommy! I love this gal! It was so much fun to have a little family trip again where we had all the attention of our parents!

Okay....if you haven't seen Wicked, you are MISSING OUT! This is my favorite thing of ALL time now. It's amazing! When it was finished, I wanted to tell them to do it again! I would've sat through it time and time again. Just for those who haven't seen the sisters in a while, from left to right it's Julie, me, Jill, Jocelyn, Jerica and Jamie. I know...it's a little dark! Sorry!

I am so in love with this baby! Avery will be one on April 18th. She has been the happiest, most pleasant baby ever. She's had a lot of health issues and she's still so happy through it all. She tries to be anyway! She loves her brothers and she LOVES her Daddy! It was a very different thing to give birth to a little baby girl, and a huge surprise that she had red hair!! We are all in love with this girl!

Oh what to say about this kid??! He is my wild man! He has been from the get go! He is such a sweet little boy with a tender little heart. But he sure can go and go and go and go! He will be a whopping 4 years old in July! My world would be so boring without this little guy! He says the funniest things constantly and he keeps us rolling! I just love him!

This is my Bryton Man! He is almost 5 1/2 and I love him to pieces! He is such a smart little guy! He's always amazing me by things he knows and things he draws. He is an awesome older brother and really looks out for the smaller ones. He'll be going to Kindergarten next year, something that I thought I'd be really happy about. Now I am a little sad that he's really big enough to go to a "big" school! I LOVE him!

So I finally gave in to all the people telling me that I needed to do a blog! I am completely lame when it comes to computer stuff, so who knows how often I'll be updating! It depends on how easy this is! Matt and I are just plugging along with our 3 kids. Bryton turned 5 December '07, Bentley will be 4 in July and Avery will be one in just about 10 days! I can't believe how time flies! Matt is going to the University of Utah working on his Computer Engineering degree and he'll finally graduate next Spring! Hopefully this next year goes by as fast as this last year! We had a fun Easter and we're looking forward to Summer! That is if Mother Nature decides to let Spring come first! Anyway...hope you all enjoy checking up on me and my little beasts!!
